As you know, 2016 marks the 160th anniversary of Tujague’s Restaurant in New Orleans. To honor this huge milestone, culinary historian and author of Tujague’s Cookbook, Poppy Tooker, will join Kathie Lee and Hoda on NBC’s TODAY Show’s 10 o’clock hour.
In addition to talking about Tujague’s Restaurant, like how it’s the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans, and how it’s the birthplace of brunch, and how it’s home to the oldest stand-up bar in America, Tooker will also prepare the restaurant’s famed Creole Gumbo on-air.
So set your VHS tape recorder or DVR (if you can’t watch it live) for Tuesday, September 13, 2016 on your local NBC channel during the Kathie Lee and Hoda show.
To stay up-to-date on the events taking place at Tujague’s Restaurant, be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Also, make sure you stay in contact with Poppy Tooker. She is the host of the NPR affiliated radio show, Louisiana Eats, and is a major ambassador of Louisiana.
